I recently bought two sets of these to turn on and off my Roku, DVD player, Argosy media player as needed for whichever one I want to use.. Here's several observations:
# [ REPLACEMENT BATTERY ] The BATTERY in the remote control says it is a number "23A" "12 volt."
This battery is available from Amazon and is listed as an "A23" [same battery just different placement of the "A." ]
The replacement BATTERY I just ordered is here:

12-9-2010 - I received the new Replacement Battery(s) installed, and working great. You may want to buy these batteries promptly. One of my New Remote units quit early, worked fine once I replaced and installed a NEW "A23" Battery.
# [ DISTANCE of REMOTE ] I have to agree with the other reviewers, the range doesn't seem to be much more than 10 feet + or - . I have better results with a 'line of sight' aim of the remote. I DO push down and HOLD down on each button for best results.
# [ QUALITY ] I have tried other wireless remotes, and this unit has shown to be the best of the other units I have used. These plug-in units are SMALLER than any other units that I have tried. Some other wireless remote controls have turned a yellowish color from UV rays shining in the window. SO FAR these Stanley wireless remotes have NOT had this dis-coloration problem.
So far so good on these wireless remotes, I have them working, but sometimes you seem to have to aim the remote directly at the plug-in units for best results.
